Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and implement client websites/template offerings – from initial concept, site architecture and user interface to finished deliverables
- Code and implement sites from Photoshop/XD layout through HTML/CSS to a custom theme, functions and plugins
- Design and implement new features, enhancements and content of existing websites
- Create and update re-usable code libraries to streamline development cycle
- Support, extend and/or enhance existing code
- Document technical and functional specifications
- Interface with clients and the Lda team on a daily basis
- Write clean, well-documented code
- Maintain existing sites
- Facilitate client training, site documentation and maintenance
- Provide technical consultancy services to project stakeholders
- Other duties as required
Skills & Experience - Required
- Ability to pick-up and develop existing frameworks, sites and technologies
- Experience with polyglot development, integrations, and unit testing in PHP, JS and/or .NET
- Exposure to SQL and relational/non-relational databases – any flavour (MySQL, Redis, MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL, etc)
- Exposure to a variety of web server software such as Apache, nginx, IIS
- Experience working with APIs (RESTful, SOAP, WSDL)
- Experience with versioning source control such as Git and SVN
- Good understanding of functional OOP design patterns
- Support, maintain, and help document software functionality
- Maintain coding, accessibility, compliance and security standards
Skills & Experience - Desired
- Maintenance and ongoing support of past and future clients
- Proactively learn new frameworks and technologies
- Deliver major initiatives from beginning to deployment in a timely manner
- Developing client and server side JavaScript technologies such as NodeJs, ExpressJs, VueJs, AngularJs, ReactJs, etc.
Developing reactive/responsive web design UI (HTML5, CSS, JS) - Curiosity and open-mindedness to continue to evaluate new technologies
- Exhibited passion for mentoring and contributing to the development of others through code reviews, tech talks, or personal coaching
- Strong work ethic and proactive attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
